Structural Analyst

Reference: 24 – 0035

An ERS Client has vacancies for suitably qualified candidates in the structural analysis area (including low and high temperature assessment, finite element analysis and design code assessment).

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for solving problems and analysing data, as well as developing detailed computational models of real plant and written communication in technical reports. There will be opportunities to visit clients at their sites.

Location is Quedgeley in Gloucestershire.

Salary is banded at £25k to £55k, dependant on skillset, experience, qualifications, etc. 

Key Responsibilities will be:

Structural analysis and assessment using a range of analytical methods, design codes and finite element modelling. 

Working to strict Quality Assurance (QA) Standards.

The production of high quality technical reports.

Delivering work to agreed timescales and costs.

Interfacing with customers throughout the project lifecycle including the specification, delivery and presentation of results.

Contracts Officer

ERS have a Client who is actively seeking to appoint an experienced and able Contracts Officer. This role will require a sound commercial knowledge preferably gained in a technical environment. The successful candidate will be helpful and proactive, and able to work in a way that enables business success.

 

 

Location

Westlakes and Sellafield, Cumbria.

Salary

Negotiable depending on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Briefly, the role comprises:

Tenders

Ensuring the commercial robustness of all commercial offers.

Undertake / assist in the production of Expressions of Interest and Pre-Qualifications.

Assist with tender preparation and contract negotiations with Clients.

Assist in the preparation of pricing sheets for tender reviews.

Facilitate risk management meetings for tenders and projects.

To be the bid manager/prospect manager for small to medium (and with experience larger) bids and prospects.

Review smaller tenders for robustness and assist in the presentation of larger tenders for more senior level review.

Contracts

Assist the project team with the preparation and processing of contractual claims and variations, as necessary.

Manage any contentious commercial issues through to completion. Assist commercial operations managers in monitoring identified contracts.

Undertake initial review of client terms and conditions, and advise project team of key commercial issues.

Review order cover and minimize work undertaken at risk.

Procurement / Sub-contracts.

Assist in the preparation of project specific procurement strategies.

Review technical procurement specifications and mentor business staff in the preparation of commercially sound specifications as required.

Provide commercial input to procurement specifications.

General Advice / Monitoring

Advise business team staff on commercial processes.

Monitor commercial activities in business teams, and work proactively with business teams to ensure compliance and robustness.

Advise commercial operations managers of the emergence of commercial problems.

Other commercial support to the specific requirements of the commercial operations managers.

ERS are actively seeking a Process Engineer for their Client.

This exciting position involves the provision of technical and management expertise to project teams to ensure technical adequacy of all engineering and control of costs and time within defined budgets and programmes.

Location is Westlakes, Stockton, Warrington and the Salary package offered is negotiable according to competencies, skillset, knowledge, expertise and experience.

Outline:

Provision of technical and management expertise to project teams to ensure technical adequacy of all engineering and control of costs and time within defined budgets and programmes.

Prepare and develop process deliverables to a high technical standard.

Also direct others in the production of these deliverables, check and critique the all deliverables from both a conceptual and detailed perspective:

o Process Flow Diagrams (including heat and mass balances)

o Equipment Lists

o Equipment Process Data Sheets

o Process Descriptions

o Process Design Criteria

o Engineering Flow Diagrams (P&ID’s)

o Utility Flow Diagrams

o Instrument Process Data

o Relief Dossiers

o Line Lists

o Interlock Descriptions or Matrix

o Operating Manuals

o Shielding and other Engineering calculations.

Serve, when required as chair of HAZOP sessions on small projects.

Skills, Knowledge and Special Attributes Needed

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).

Relevant experience with an engineering company or operating company.

Corporate Membership of Professional Institution with relevant experience in the contracting industry.

Relevant experience should include operating as the engineer in charge of the engineering of major equipment or systems and must have been responsible for carrying out these tasks with minimum supervision.

Must have experience in a leading role and must be able to liaise with engineers and drawing office staff of all disciplines.

Must have the ability to organize and lead medium size teams of Process Engineers.

Is familiar with Project Execution Model, all Company Procedures, Departmental Methods, Guidelines and international standards.

Is thoroughly familiar with word processing, spread sheeting, electric communication and document management software.
